What is a Netbook?

Netbook is a small portable computer, designed mainly for general internet surfing. Netbooks have more than enough power to browse the internet, make voip calls, do video conference, chat and even watch movies. Netbooks are low power, low weight and mostly low cost.

Typical Netbook features

Most Netbooks have the following standard features:

1. Compact size about 11 inch length x 8 inch width x less than 1 inch thick.
2. Lightweight, about 2 to 3 lbs including battery.
3. No built-in optical drive like CD / DVD drives.
4. Just big enough screen between 7 - 12 inches. Typical resolution 1024x600.
5. Full QWERTY keyboard.
6. Built-in Touchpad or Trackpad.
7. Built-in Video Web Camera (webcam)
8. Built-in 802.11 a/b/g wireless (wi-fi)
9. Ports: USB and LAN with RJ-45 connector.

What can you do with a Netbook?

Almost anything you do on the internet. Which includes:

1. Checking your email
2. Visiting web sites
3. Reading news
4. Watching internet videos
5. Great for travel

What you should not do with a Netbook

1. You can not play graphic intensive games.
2. You can not be used as a server.
3. Too much typing not recommended.
